We would like to share our amazing morning with you. Mrs Whitley brought in her pet bearded dragons to share with the class.
They were so well behaved and we got to see them eating their breakfast – worms!! All of the children touched, stroked or held one of the lizards, which led to some great questioning – ‘Why do they feel cold?’ ‘Are they boys or girls?’ ‘Where do they usually live?’ ‘Does their skin come off?’ ‘Why are their eyes on the sides?’
But the fun didn’t stop there! Then we were treated to see some of their eggs and also two full length snake skins. We measured the snake skin and found out the snake would have been longer than Emilia!
A big thank you to Mrs Whitley (and her visitors) for making our morning so exciting.
This visit led to some great writing from the children later in day, some talking about their eggs, some recalling how they felt, some explaining what they eat and some saying they looked like dinosaurs! Well done Acorns.
